Compassion and Emotional Intelligence in Academic Support
Full description
To encourage students to make use of Mount Allison’s academic writing supports, the Writing Resource Centre offers in-class presentations on a variety of topics, from an overview of academic writing as a whole to specific presentations on science writing, plagiarism, or concision; Mount Allison’s Writing Resource Centre! is a brief introduction to the services of the Writing Resource Centre.
In recognition of the anxiety many students feel around seeking academic support, the Mount Allison Writing Resource Centre highlights the importance of compassionate yet effective communication when training its tutors. Compassion and Emotional Intelligence in Academic Support was part of a summer presentation series by our Academic Support coordinators.
